Wax Currant

Wax Currant (Ribes cereum) is a western North American native with small bright red to orange berries that have mildly sweet, slightly waxy flavour and feed birds and other wildlife.

Pink to white tubular flowers attract bees and hummingbirds. Adapted to dry rocky slopes and open woodland, Wax Currant is drought tolerant. Oak Summit Nursery started these plants from seed to evaluate them in our climate.
