Viking Apple Tree

Viking apple was introduced by the Wisconsin Agricultural Experiment Station in 1969. Its large fruit has deep maroon to purple skin and crisp, juicy flesh with a sweet tart, aromatic flavour. Viking is suited to fresh eating, baking, sauce, and cider.

The vigorous, early bearing tree shows resistance to fire blight, powdery mildew, and cedar apple rust, but can be susceptible to apple scab. Fruit ripens in mid September.
