Scots Pine Seeds

Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) seed was collected from large healthy trees in southern Manitoba. Mature trees have orange red upper bark, relatively short needles, and an open crown that broadens with age.

Fresh seed can germinate without a cold treatment, although up to 30 days of cold stratification may produce more uniform germination.
