Nannyberry

Nannyberry (Viburnum lentago) is a large shrub or small tree native to Manitoba, with sweet blue black fruit from late summer into early fall. The fruit is used in preserves and eaten by birds. Glossy green leaves turn red to purple in autumn, and creamy white flower clusters open in spring.

Its suckering growth can form a thicket. It tolerates a range of moisture conditions, including some drier soils.
