Golden Currant

Golden Currant (Ribes aureum), also called Clove Currant, is a North American native shrub with fruit that ripens to amber yellow or black. Fragrant golden yellow flowers open in spring and provide early food for pollinators.

The loose rounded shrub is adaptable, and its lobed green leaves turn warm red in fall.
