Bur Oak Acorns

Bur Oak (Quercus macrocarpa) is the native white oak that grows around Oak Summit Nursery. These acorns come from local wild stands of large healthy trees that thrive in sandy soil and extreme winters.

Bur Oaks can live for centuries and provide valuable wildlife habitat. The acorns are mild for an oak and can be processed for food. Fresh acorns do not require cold stratification.
